A student enrolled in the military science program seeking a commission in the U.S. Army Reserve may major in any recognized discipline within the College. The military science program provides instruction and practical experience in leadership and management that will help students succeed in any desired career, civilian or military.
The aim of the diploma in Military Arts and Science is to provide Non-Commissioned Members (NCMs) of the Canadian Forces and those interested in military affairs, a comprehensive knowledge of leadership, critical thinking, security studies, resource management, and communication skills deemed essential to the functioning of modern military or large corporations. This diploma serves as a recognized component to the Non-Commissioned Members' training.
27 credits, to include the following: M SCI 401, M SCI 402, M SCI 403 (9 credits) Additional military science coursework (18 credits) Minimum 18 credits of military science completed at the upper-division level. Minimum 18 credits of military science completed in residence at the UW. Minimum 2.5 grade in each course presented for the minor.

Albertson College of Idaho cooperates with Boise State University and Northwest Nazarene University in an Army ROTC program. Students take Military Science (MS) courses at NNU and BSU campuses and are eligible to receive up to 25 units of elective credit towards their degree from Albertson College. ROTC is a program of study that does not lead to a specific major or minor. Students who pursue this program must complete the general education program at Albertson College and also complete a major.
