Course of Study
The History and Political Science Department at Greenville College enables our students to understand ideas and draw conclusions from the experience of the past that will allow them to participate effectively, ethically, and redemptively in the corporate life of the communities in which they live.
The major is arranged to provide a history and political science student with an emphasis in either history or political science. All students are required to take courses in western civilization, American history or government, world cultures or comparative politics, and courses in historical methods and historiography as foundations of their course of study.

Students interested in the study of History are invited to join the Greenville College chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. This student led club organizes field trips to sites of historical interest, invites guest speakers to campus, prepares presentations at the local historical society, and creates fellowship opportunities on and off campus for students interested in the profession of history
