NOTES: 1. One POLS course at the 3000-4000 level or GEOG 4205 Political Geography (beginning Summer 2006) may be substituted for one HIST elective 2. A minimum of 24 semester hours in the major field must be at the 3000-4000 level. 3. A maximum of 3 semester hours from any and all of the following categories of courses may be used to satisfy the elective requirement, number 4, above: independent study, internship, study abroad, workshop (and then only if the workshop is taught by a professor in the department and is graded A-F).
Degree Requirements

1.
Students must show competence in a foreign language at the level of the fourth university course (2002). (9-12 hours)
2.
Fulfill the requirements of a Senior Capstone Experience by completing the requirements of Senior Thesis, HIST 4970. (3 hours)
3.
A grade of C or better must be earned in all courses that count toward the major.
4.
A minimum of 39 hours overall must be at the 3000-4000 level.
5.
Complete First-Year Academic Seminar with a passing grade. (cannot be counted towards graduation)
