1000 series courses are first year courses. 2000 series courses are upper year courses in European history. 3000 series courses are upper year courses in North American/non-European history. Any second or third year student may take courses from the 2000 or 3000 series. 4000 series courses are senior seminars designed for specialized program students. Refer to Laurentian’s general requirements pertaining to all degree programs.

Consultation Form for Three-Year General Concentration

With a single concentration, students must complete 36 credits in History.

First Year: 6 credits from the following: HIST 1106, 1107, 1206, 1207, 1406, 1407 (3 cr. each)

Second and Third Years: 30 upper year History credits. Courses may be selected from either the 2000 series (European) or 3000 series (North American) in both years and must include:
6 credits from HIST 2006, 2026, 3006 or 3926 (3 cr. each) must be included, usually in the second year.
6 credits must be taken at the 2000 series and 6 credits from the 3000 series
